before i fell out big-time with my 'best-friend', she was like my identical twin

i'm quite a quirky individual and like to stand out; i hate looking similar to everyone else

i've had some quite dramatic changes to my hair

we both had long, brown hair

i decided to dye mine black and have a heavy, full fringe

2 weeks later my friend had done EXACTLY the same

i then had my hair cut into a bob and lightened

about a month later, she has her hair done VERY similarly

i have mine cropped and dyed black

.. a few days later, my 'twin' is back

since then, i have been growing my hair and have bleached it into a lovely light blonde colour (which she helped me to achieve) i was going to put purple in my fringe to stand out, but delayed it as to not damage my hair

her hair was still black

the next time i see her, not only has she bleached her hair to exactly the same colour as mine, but she also has a PURPLE FRINGE

she dresses identically to me

its driving me insane

i hate her

On a serious note, it sounds like you are both pretty insecure. Why not try and make her feel better about herself. She might do the same for you. Remember, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

be flattered that your style is worth stealing. Or if you really hate her then start a horrible trend and see if she will follow you and then tell everyone about it to see if she will do it. She probably would and will be totally embarressed when everyone knows she is a copycat

I would take it as a compliment, she obviously likes your style, or doesnt have a mind of her own...

But, if its annoying you that much then you should confront her ( its the only way!) but do it in a nice friendly way, even though you probably want to scream and shout at her you'll probably regret it later.

Well for one did you ever consider you stole you style from some one else even if was unconsciously. Really and truly its a free world and she can dress how she wants. Id say grow up but you're probably like 14 or so but just get over it and if indeed she is copying you she'll get over it in time just ignore her.

Stop changing things. She knows she's getting to you by being your 'twin' and she enjoys that. If you really want to see how far she would go, dress completely different. Be a nerd...get something pierced....do something drastic and then call her out on it in front of everyone. Then watch her embarrassment.

OHMYGOD i feel soo bad for you! Have you tried talking to her,telling her how annyoing she is and everyone will start to hate her if she copys everyone?Geesh your poor hair! DO you tell her if you are going to do somthing to hair, if you do DONT. Start agnoring her she will get the picture **hopefully**! This is tricky as people will tell you that you should be flattered that she copies you. However from personal experience......I DON'T GIVE A DAMN!!!

It is the most annoying thing in the world. You have to talk to her and tell her that she seems to follow anything you do. Say everything you have said above. Don't get mad, just tell her it is irritating you as you like to be unique.

Then you could suggest quirky things SHE could do. Makes you look like a good friend and you've got her off your ***!!!!! :) x

Have you ever heard the saying ... "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" even though she drives you nuts, maybe for your sanity sake, let it go. Hating people takes more energy than letting it go. P.S. quirky is good. Your "friend" can imitate all your styles, but can't be you. Your personality is what is gonna ultimately set you apart.

Well, first of all, you should be happy someone think you are that stylish! But still I see your problem. Next time you see her, ask her why she always dresses like you (casually, so it doesn't seem like you are being mean). Whatever she tells you, tell her she should try dressing like "this" or "that", because it would look good on her. She obviously respects your style expertise, so she would probably want to try what you say.

OH MY GOSH!!! That would be the most annoying thing in the world! Go tell her off, exactly (ok well maybe not EXACTLY)how you said it on here, tell her how she's driving you insane and to not copy her anymore, dont' be really rude about it, but jsut something to get her to stop copying you. If that doesn't work you could do something super ugly, to get her to stop, but I don't think I'd take that risk unless I was desperate. So just talk it out, and see how it goes. lol its sounds like my neighbor...shes always copying me...just tell her commonly that you feel shes copying you, dont go out and blame her because she may get mad...then ask her why she does that or say that you can help her pick a look out that shed like just you dont like her copying you because you like to be and individual....hope this helps
