How to dress attractive when overweight?

I want to dress more attractive. I'm always wearing dark swearters and baggy shirts and my hair is always pulled back into a pony tail. I'm 16 my height 5'7 and i weigh 190 pounds. i want to change my style but i'm not sure what to wear or how to fix up my hair. sometimes when i wear a v-neck shirt people always complimenting me on it, and i like it, that's why i wan't to change. oh did i mention that i'm mixed with black and white, so that means... my hair has a mind of its own! so please help me with a cute hair do, or cute clothing for overweight girls. so i need your advice

Let ur hair go, don't try and make it look like something its not. Just work with it, if it wants to become a fro, let it. i've seen so many cute girls with fros. Okay, i'm five six and i weigh one forty five, i totally understand the problem with dressing. Find fitted jackets, the compliment curves and cover pudge. Dark jeans thin the legs. Slight flare on the bottom balances hips. If your bust is larger, find sloping neck lines that don't make u look slutty. Empire waist shirts or shirts that tie around the middle can help create more defined curves. I hope this helps, and i'm sure you'll be looking good soon.

wear form fitting clothes, not too tight though. the key is to TRY THINGS ON. You'll never know until you try. ask some advice from the store employees if you don't' have anyone to go with.

mmmm get gel and put your hair in lots of gel and put it down. and wear a nice TIGHT shirt . black is reely sexy and so is red!. but dont wear to much black because people may think you wear the same clothing. happened to me lol. and wear nice jeans from the mall. not 2 big! big jeans lose attraction. get the perfect size. and try make-up/ have fun!

I think you should look at Torid...or Torrid, its like Hot Topic only in larger sizes...and omg are the clothes cool. Check out their styles, let them help you with changing your image and then go to a fairly inexpensive salon in one of your new outfits and ask them what hair style they recommend. When I say a cheap salon I mean like Precision 6....god how did the other national chains just slip out of my brain? The stylists in those salons never get to truly use their skills because most people go in there wanting a trim....they love it when a person comes in and they actually get to practice their craft. Good luck babe I am sure you will look fabulous.

An oversized t-shirt or sweatshirt will make you look sloppy and heavier than you really are, look for tops that are more tailored to fit closely to your body. DON'T wear tight clothing, you want to show off your curves, not hug fat rolls. Don't be afraid of color! Just because you are big does not mean you have to wear all dark and vertical stripes! Pairing up a vibrantly colored V neck blouse with dark wide leg trousers is always a winner.

As for your hair, save up a little money and make an appointment with a stylist who is experienced with ethnic hair and have them show you how to use various styling products for the best results, as well as come up with a style that suits you and is managable. If your face is very round, try to stay with sleek, straight styles to keep from making your head look even bigger.

Good luck!

First... black and vertical stripes make a slimming affect. Then for your hair... short hair with layers and highlights should compliment you. Maybe even angled bangs... When it comes to your clothes. Wear tighter fitting clothes, but don't make it look like it was painted on you. Be comfortable yet stylish. Add belts over your clothing. But do not wear "Look at me!" belts because you want to draw attention to your face. Also, v-necks are good if your busty... But don't go too much into the revealing because then its just unnattractive then. Big earings and a necklace should bring the attention to your face. Hope this helped!

First, start with styles that you like for your hair. Find photos of celebrities that have a similar face shape and hair texture, then take those to your hair stylist. Be very specific in what kind of change you are wanting, such as a hairstyle that will make a round face seem longer, etc. Also consider getting your eyebrows shaped, it can make a whole new look instantly polished. Consider heading to a salon that also offers makeup consultation to find out which new colors of makeup would accentuate your new look.

As far as clothes are concerned, the best place to start is what you feel comfortable in. You said you receive compliments on Vnecks and that is a good place to start. If you are a bit larger chested, be sure to have a great bra that lifts and separates, no matter what the cost is.

Go for longer pants that fall over your shoes but not to the floor. Stick with straight or wide leg pants as this creates a long line, making you look taller and leaner. Try some pointy toe shoes, which also extend the length of the look of the pant. Stick with skirts that are about knee length, anything longer will look a bit frumpy. I have found that button up shirts that are fitted under the bust help to accentuate a waist, creating a lovely hourglass shape. Don't be concerned with the size tag in the clothes, go with what really looks good on you. Anything that is too tight will only accentuate every little bump.

Take a good look at the colors that you really enjoy and look good on you. I love olive green but it looks horrendous on me. It took a long time to learn that it did not look good with my complexion! Darker colors on the bottom will also help to thin your frame, so stick with darker wash jeans with a fantastic top in a great color and fabulous shoes. With your new hair cut, you will ensure some great compliments on your new look!

Dress in a tight fitting shirt. Make sure it doesn't have stripes going across it because it makes you look fat. Try every hairstyle there is and see what looks best on you. I don't know what you look like so I can't decide your hairstyle. Some ideas are:

Pigtails,

Cowtail,

Ponytail,

2 Braids or

tiny braids.

Wear black and pink clothing. My step-sister is overweight and those are the colors that she wears most of the time.

As for shoes, wear cool tennisshoes and I advise not wearing sandals. Sometimes they don't look the greatest on overweight people.

Lastly you asked about pants. Lots of jeans is my recomendation. I highly advise you to not wear many skirts, and if you do make sure they go below your knee. I think low riding, perfect fitting jeans are the best for overweight people.

I really hope these tips work, and good luck trying stuff out!

How to dress attractive when overweight?

go to a hair salon and have them show you pictures of hair styles they think would compliment your face. vnecks are good on round faces, dont wear clothes that are too tight, that always looks worse but dont go too baggy either, as that makes you look bigger than ever, your clothes should just skim your figure not have it busting out nor hidden in a sack. cut out the carbs and you will start to lose a little, go for a short natural type hair do that is a bit shorter on the sides and taller on top giving you more height and less side bulk so you dont look like your head is totally round. dont wear stripes, go for a pattern that has no specific direction to it. i try to avoid buttons since they always pull at the bust line on me, so i wear pull over tops, if your vnecks are too low for school put a higher necked tank under it. you can go with warm colors, oranges , gold, olive greens, tan and golden browns and sometimes various shades of red, warm purples and turquoise blues. if you have a bigger bottom keep the plain colors on the bottom and prints on top or darker shades on the bottom and lighter shades on top. dont wear fabrics that are too bulky but also dont go for the really slinky fabrics like micro fibers as they usually show every lump or bump on your skin since they are so thin. cotton knits and lighter weight sweater knits on top and cottons and smoother wool like skirts , and jeans are good too if they arent cutting off the circulation, and no hip huggers if you are heavy, they will show way too much lump above the belt on those things. believe me i made all the mistakes.lol good luck

You are invited to a very formal "DO". What would you wear and what do you think of my out

Perhaps you are one of those lucky people who look wonderful in any outfit. Here is an idea I would like to try.

A suit (with trousers) in very dark grey, dark stockings, black court style shoes. A white silk blouse with collar turned dowm over a black band supporting a gold mounted cameo brooch. Finally a deep scarlet waistcoat My grey hair would be brushed until it shone like silver.

Would you sit at my table or am I too gaudy for your taste?

You are invited to a very formal "DO". What would you wear and what do you think of my outfit? ?

I think it sounds very classy and classic. Going with the charcoal gray instead of black will make sure it doesn't look too severe, and I think the black band and cameo add a lovely touch to it.

Wish I had the figure to pull off something like that. Alas, I look best in (as my husband puts it) hippie-earth-mother type outfits. Darnit.

You are invited to a very formal "DO". What would you wear and what do you think of my outfit? ?

Well Rose, I wouldn't say that me and you have the same style in clothes-but from listening to you on Answers.... I would sit at your table and even pour you a drink of the good stuff!

You are invited to a very formal "DO". What would you wear and what do you think of my outfit? ?

You a little confused???

You are invited to a very formal "DO". What would you wear and what do you think of my outfit? ?

Madame Rose, I'd be happy to sit at your table whether or not you were formally dressed or wearing jeans and a t-shirt. That sounds like a marvelouslly classy outfit. I hope you fully enjoy yourself (although I dislike formal Do's...I'll sit over here quietly in the corner and have a cup of tea) Blessings.

You are invited to a very formal "DO". What would you wear and what do you think of my outfit? ?

Not at all, it sounds very stylish in a English sort of way, and it sounds like you could carry it off very well. I would be honored to share your table!

I love this pink sweater-yes it's from Abercrombie and I usually think of them as trendy but I personally think that this sweater is not really that trendy.

http://www.abercrombie.com/webapp/wcs/st...

AE has a yellow one that is similar, but I like the pink one better

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp...

I also like these shirts from AE

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp...

This one in red

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp...

This one in white or another color but I like white

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp...

This one in raspberry or white

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp...

This one in either color

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp...

I like this one in blue

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp...

In pink

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp...

In white

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp...

I think this shirt in yellow is cute

http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?cat...

Then you could pair the sweater with any of the following pant I think it would look good with dark jeans or navy blue pants. One pair of dark jeans would look good with any of those shirts. I like these three pair from AE the best to go with any of the tops.

I am not really up on what is trendy and the in style right now I just choose what tops I liked. Instead of choosing whole outfits I tried to give you different tops to go with a few pairs of pants. I think that the necklace below would look cute with several of th e tops a simple ring would also look nice. And any of the earings in the second link below.

I just tried it, it works fine. If you're putting this code in the "About Me" section just make sure you put what you want displayed in the About Me section on your profile before all of that code.

For example, here's what you put in the "About Me" box when editing your profile:

Outfit help?

I am running out of outift ideas and need some fresh opinions. I am a teenage girl with blue eyes, reddish brown hair, and pale skin.

Here are some basic things that I have, so you guys have more to work with.

Things I have:

Jeans(mostly dark wash)

Tank tops(Black, grey, white, blue, red)

Leggings(grey and black)

Sneakers(brown tweedy low tops)

Gladiator style sandals

Flip flops

Hoodie sweater(black)

Obviously I have some other stuff, but those are some of my basics. Does anyone have some cool outfit ideas? (Please don't say 'jeans and a tee shirt' or something.)

Thanks in advance.

Outfit help?

1.you could wear your dark Jeans with your hoodie sweater which is also black, one day.

2. then you can mix your jeans with a tank top maybe go white tank top and have the hoodie black sweater tied over your shoulders or draped over you so you see a bit of your sweater but you have more of your tank top showing.

3 you could wear your black leggings one day with either your red black grey , blue or white tank tops.

4 could wear your grey leggings with your black top again if you want to hang over your hoodie sweater for a casual look or dress it up a bit

5 Grey leggings again another day with a black tank top or red.

6 you can get a bit more creative if your tank tops are made differently i mean one hangs lower than the other or has a v neck another a higher neck you can mix the black and red tank tops wearing both having one colour as your main number and the red or black showing around the neck area a bit higher than your lower tank top. so your layering another words your clothes. and keeping the colours nicely put together.

7. you could wear your grey leggings with your black tank top and have the black sweater draped over your shoulders or tied up hanging down in your front or you can wear it keeping the sweater open so y our tank top shows through.

there you have 7 days worth of switching things around. Your next 7 days you do the same thing mixing and matching colours as you go. stick with two types don't be gong for 3 or 4 colours you don't want to look like a clown .

black grey and white however will work just watch how you put it together.

Hope that helps

Outfit help?

Well, how about the red tank top. Cut off a pair of jeans so that they are super super short. Black mesh nylons, and the gladiator style sandals, or even better, a pair of 4 inch high heels.

Outfit help?

Do you have a mini skirt in brown or dark wash denim? If you do take the leggings (black) were them underneath the skirt. Then take a tank top red, and if you have a nice tailor, well fitting blazer (a zip p sweater wore open even) wear that. If the legging don't go down too far were the sneakers but if they do go down far were the flip flops. Your Welcome

Outfit help?

Toss in a few skirts to wear with or without the leggings.

Buy some different types of tops rather than limiting yourself to just tank tops. Instead of solid colors think about some prints as well.

Try layering blouses over your tank tops for a different look.

How about some platform or wedge shoes/boots?

Look in catalogs and magazines as well for ideas. (This is never-ending, whatever your age.)

Outfit help?

Try a pair of jeans with a blue tank with a white tank over top and your brown tweedy low top sneakers. Also, you could try your blabk leggings under a denim mini skirt with a blue tank layered with a red tank. Hope I help!

Outfit help?

Button up shirts, you can wear them over a tank and leave an extra button or two ondone.

Denim jacket

Black boots, every girl needs a pair - sturdy ones with good soles

Black turtleneck, very chic!

All of the above would work right into your current wardrobe, AND they're good for winter.

Best wishes!

Outfit help?

lighten a single pairor jeans buy throwing it in the wash with a few table spoons of bleech it will atlernate the entire style of the jeans, than run over certain areas with sand papr for the jagged ripped effect.

ger creative and spice up your wardrobe buy adding design to your tanks like rinestones from micheals craft store. asd some to the thong of your flip flops, and grab a few new clothing items every other few weeks, like new shirts, belts scarfs hair accesoiries purses etc.

Lookin cute for my crush?!?

hi! I have a crush on this hot guy at my school and I was hoping you could give me some good fashion and beauty advice on how to impress him! Now, I know, I shouldn't have to change my looks for him, and look's arent everything, but lets face it, looks are what get us interested in someone, personality is what KEEPS us interested. I am 5'3'', athletic body, light brown hair and dark brown almost black eyes. My skin is light w/ a slight tan, and my hair has natural loose curls. PLease give me some tips on clothes, make-up, and hair ideas. My style is country/rock, and I wear alot of skinny jeans. He is super athletic(quarterback on the foot ball team)

I already think he is sorta interested in my, cause we sit by each other in most of the classes(our schedules match, total accident) and I am always seeing him look at me for longer periods of time. He also talks to me and walks beside me in the hallways and waits for me after class, never admited it though.

Plz help me, ppplllzzzz

Lookin cute for my crush?!?

Just show up naked, it's guaranteed to work.

Really, just stop sweating it. He's already interested, so your clothes aren't what will make the difference from this point. You need to make sure he knows that you're interested too, is all. Some people are dense about this and don't pick up signals well, and sometimes people are just afraid of being hurt.

Don't make yourself overly accessible, or things may stagnate, he needs to pay a price if he doesn't step up and make an effort. If that fails, you can always ask him out, it's 2007 already.

Lookin cute for my crush?!?

dress skanky, he'll love it

Lookin cute for my crush?!?

i think that if he is already intrested in you, then stay the way you are!

Lookin cute for my crush?!?

pleaze dont dress skany

the guy wont like it

trust me:))

you sound really pretty so i would wear an eyeliner that pops your eye so he will notice you

dont totally change

just do things that will make him notice you!

try a different hairstyle or outfit

but whatever you do dont vhange your personality along with your looks

GOOD LUCK

Lookin cute for my crush?!?

Football guys usually like preppy girls, be cute try skinny jeans with a cute t-shirt and flats

Am I trying to be something that im not?

At school people use to always tell me that I act and dress like a white girl. Well I'm black but my style is what my friends say is more of a white girl's style. Well I didnt know that there was a such thing as a white girl or black girl style. My favortie movie is legally blonde, and I even told my bf that I wanted to die my hair blonde. I'm not trying to be white, I just wanna be a blonde. lol. My boyfriend told me that I was in denial with who I am. Do you think I hate what I am, and that im trying to be something that im not?

Am I trying to be something that im not?

Who is to tell you the way you should act or dress because of your race. There are no standards for any race. Do as you please. I'm told that I dress, act, and speak like a white girl, and I really could careless, I do what I want to do because it's me.

And your boyfriend is VERY ignorant. VERY!!

Am I trying to be something that im not?

No, just do whatever you want and if people say you're fake then they're just trippin.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

They are being harsh, you just want to act and dress like certain people be it white or black it doesn't matter. There is good to be taken from both races.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

be you and do you...How can one dress like a color? Ignore their ignorance

Am I trying to be something that im not?

I think you hate yourself and you will never admit where you came from.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

a black girl with blonde hair? eww

blonde hair disgusts me

Am I trying to be something that im not?

don't give these things much importance. People are trying to put you in a box.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

girl, why would you want to dye your hair blonde? you aren't going to have any edges when you get through. and about your clothes, it seems to me that you are doing it on purpose i mean you did say that your favorite movie is legally blonde(are you serious?). you need to readdress this question and ask it to yourself.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

No, you are trying to express yourself in the styles that you like most. Dont let people tell you that you are trying to be something that you are not... by being different... you are being who you are. Forget the people who say any different.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

''I'm not trying to be white, I just wanna be a blonde. lol.'' lol thats the funniest think ive heard on here today xD

But i get yea, im like that, you not trying to be white and your not in denial, just coz you like certain things doesnt been your trying to get rid of your past. Do what you like you are an individual, i like legally blonde because it is funny, but not as much as to die my hair tho lol it wouldnt suit me. Just be who you want to be, you dont have to follow a sterotype.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

NO WAY! The people who tell you that are silly and actually racist! There is no right way to 'be black' or to 'be white'. Don't let them put that in your head! Just be you, and that's all that matters. So what your style is different from your friends, they may just have no imaginations, or they may fear being different. But individuality is what makes you special! Be true to yourself and keep your style, no matter what they say. You're not trying to 'be white', you're trying to be you, and if they can't understand that.....who cares what they think?!

Am I trying to be something that im not?

No, be yourself and for everyone that doesn't like it then they aren't worth you're time.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

Well unfortunately I think there is such a thing as acting and dressing like different races I have a good friend who is the whitest black guy I have ever met we used to joke with him But there is no need to live up to a stereo type people go out of there way to dress trendy and like they think they should just wear what you like and go blonde if you want the way you dress does not make you who you are so I dont htink it is possible to be in denial of yourself unless your wearing a white sheet

Am I trying to be something that im not?

They're jus saying that cause NORMALLY white people got blonde but HELLO PEOPLE LOOK @ EVE! She has blonde hair and she look pretty wit it so just ignore do wateva YOU want! Forget da hataz!!!

Am I trying to be something that im not?

Do what you like. And don't let other blacks tell you that getting good grades and having goals to actually BE something in life is "acting white" either. They'll be dead or rotting in jail while you're busy living a good life.

It's YOUR life, live it how YOU want to live it. Don't try to even make excuses for what you want to do, just tell them "it's not your business" and then leave the conversation. Every time.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

Be true to yourself. Don't worry about other opinions. Your 'style' is what makes you an individual. It takes more people like you and what I believe in order to keep people on their toes. I'm Native American and damn proud of it. I wear my items that make me feel good about myself and if no one likes it - tough ****. Do what you feel is right to your self.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

NO! just be yourself and who cares what people say to you. hey, legally blonde is one my favorites to and I'm not blonde. you're not in denial, it happens to anybody. You're still young. Hey I wanted to get a boob job, I wanted a lift, but I wanted them to look more natural and my friend talk me out of it by showing pictures of the worst boob jobs ever. So, I decided not to get them, and have big boobs anyways. SO WHAT!!!! These people can take their opinions and shove them all up in their asses...

Am I trying to be something that im not?

I know how you feel. Same thing happened to me when I was a kid. People are stupid. Just ignore them.

Am I trying to be something that im not?

its what you want, and no one else opinion should really matter on your style and choice of flim hun, do you, thats all that really matters at the end of the day

Am I trying to be something that im not?

ignore those retards.

Going to a 50's party and have a poodle skirt outfit complete with saddle oxfords. a few questi

My skirt is hot pink w/black poodle, black polo-style shirt w/hot pink poodle, black cinch belt with rhinestone clasp to match the rhinestone collars on both dogs. The "leashes" are both silver braid. My scarf is hot pink. Black crinoline under the skirt. I have a pink w/black dots dice shaped handbag.

Should I wear the scarf around my neck or the base of my ponytail? Which was more common? Shirt has a poodle on it as well, so think the scarf would be better in the hair?

Also, weren't the bobby socks plain, as in no poodle/other embroidered on them?

What kind of earrings should I wear?

My mom made mention of an odd trend in her hometown, and that was to wear a little tiny clothespin on your collar--said they came in all colors to match outfits. Is this familiar, and if so, where can I find them?

Did the girls where any other kind of jewelry, ie bracelets etc?

I'm trying to be as authentic as humanly possible so, Thanks heaps in advance!

Going to a 50's party and have a poodle skirt outfit complete with saddle oxfords. a few questions:?

The scarf should be tied around your pony tail. The bobby socks were plain or with a lace trim. I never heard of wearing a clothes pin. The jewelry we wore were ID bracelets or charm bracelets. Pearl earrings or a pearl necklace were also common. We wore something called "pop-it" beads but I don't think those are available anymore. The beads popped together. They were multi colored.

It sounds like you are going to look very authentic. Wear red lipstick and mascara, no other make-up.

Going to a 50's party and have a poodle skirt outfit complete with saddle oxfords. a few questions:?

Have fun at the party. I wish I could go. Report It

Going to a 50's party and have a poodle skirt outfit complete with saddle oxfords. a few questions:?

scarf at the base of your ponytail, plain socks that fold down, and plain stud earrings - pearl, maybe?

Going to a 50's party and have a poodle skirt outfit complete with saddle oxfords. a few questions:?

Your outfit sounds amazing. Post a picture! Wear the scarf up high on the pony tail...neck to the scalp. No bow, ends hanging. Fold down bobby socks. Hoop earrings. Charm bracelet. Never heard of the little clothespin thing. CHEW GUM and blow bubbles. Get an old Pepsi or Coke bottle.

Preppy eemmooo :)?

ok, so for halloween i think i decided on being

a preppy emo :)

well this is my plan:

a dark, charcoal color polo from hollister,

a hollister beenie, lots and lots of eyeliner

i'm going to attempt to make my hair emo style

(over my eye)

and i'm either going to wear skinny black jeans, or a.e. jeans

and maybe some converse

how does that sound ?

any suggestions ??

b.t.w. i'm 13 and a guy

this is for a halloween party :)

Preppy eemmooo :)?

that sounds pretty stupid, sorry it's my opinion

Preppy eemmooo :)?

Stupid

Preppy eemmooo :)?

sounds good, must be emo

Preppy eemmooo :)?

Yes, sounds great!!

Preppy eemmooo :)?

At first, I thought that was weird. Now it sounds kinda cute. I wish I could see you. Could you post some pictures?

Preppy eemmooo :)?

That sounds really dumb. Boys shouldn't wear make-up. Why don't you be a football player or a zombie or something?

Preppy eemmooo :)?

It sounds really good, I was a regular emo last halloween. The only problem is, that sounds more like something people do everyday, like a scene person, which is a person who normally has a preppy attitude but emo clothing, makeup, and hairstyle.

Preppy eemmooo :)?

Unoriginal and not funny. Be something cool.

Preppy eemmooo :)?

you should get a red marker and draw line on your wrist to make it look like you bleeding:]

Preppy eemmooo :)?

it has to be more outrageous, people dress like that at my school.

Preppy eemmooo :)?

yeah it sounds good go with the skinny jeans.

Preppy eemmooo :)?

sounds like a regular emo...

Preppy eemmooo :)?

ok then....

converse isn't an emo wear goddamnit, hippies wore them first. quit taking ideas from flower children.

Preppy eemmooo :)?

ummm....sure go fo rit=]

Preppy eemmooo :)?

Awesome idea! Honestly...that's how i dress everyday. I shop at preppy places like AE, Hollister and A%26amp;F, yet people still call me "emo" because of my make-up/hair.

If your hair's not already brown or black, dye it a darker color.

Preppy eemmooo :)?

ummm idk...it kinda sounds like a regular day out fit....(unless u always wear something totally different from that) and also i dont really see the preppy part...hmm but i guess if thats what u call a halloween costume go for it

Preppy eemmooo :)?

emo's wear tight black pants and have black hair. For an extra effect they make this stuff you can make into scars. it is kind of like wax that can go on your skin, but i can't remember what it is and what it is called.

Preppy eemmooo :)?

stupid. choose one

Preppy eemmooo :)?

yyEAH GO AHEAD FAG! PUT THT MAKEUP

ON, AND FULFILL UR FANTASY!JOTO!

Preppy eemmooo :)?

You'll just look emo. Sorry

Preppy eemmooo :)?

if i were you, i would either go as a prep or an emo, not both. thats just not kool

Preppy eemmooo :)?

NICEEEEEEEEE

Preppy eemmooo :)?

i find that quite hot. wear the skinny jeans and coverse.

Cute Glasses~?~?~ HELP?

I'm probably gonna have to get glasses and I was wondering what are some cute styles for a 14 year old? I have a round face with a few freckles around my nose and long dark brown hair with side swept bangs. I was thinking small black rimmed glasses. Contacts not an option. Thanks!

Cute Glasses~?~?~ HELP?

You will want to try on many many different pair until you find ones you like. If your eye exam isn't for a week or so why not go to the mall with some friends and try on some glasses now at an optical place so you have a bit of an idea what you might like.

Cute Glasses~?~?~ HELP?

Like omg you thilly thilly gooth! sry that was my gay impersonation...anyways get plastic frame glasses and the black ones are a good choice. Just don't get them too big. I like the slimmer rectangular shaped ones..really classy!

Ways to accesorize my uniform?

Gosh! your school is strict! no rules about belts though, right? check with the school to see if it's alright. or be bold if you're sure about the rules and wear a cute, colorful belt.

Ways to accesorize my uniform?

a simple red bangle can add drama to your outfit. or a nice watch. =)

Ways to accesorize my uniform?

jeez. that's a bit oppressive. at my school, we stick badges on our blazers, wear jumpers underneath said blazers and wear cool, brightly coloured scarfs. we get told off a lot though. so god i don't know. get some nice tights that are gray but with a slight pattern from somewhere like tk maxx...or if you're an american, american apparel or something, i guess. i don't know much about american shops. you could get a nice necklace and wear it underneath the blouse, we're not allowed jewellary at all and i do that all the time.

what about coats?

i think you'll have trouble trying to get round that ridiculous set of rules though. god, i'm glad i don't go to your school.

xstevie

Ways to accesorize my uniform?

Well.... You could... um....well....my school says that i can't alter the uniform... so, i don't know

And ^ american public schools don't have uniforms.

Ways to accesorize my uniform?

Well IDK about your uniform- thats pretty tight!!! I' dsay paint our fingernails or die your hair purple or something drastic like that

Ways to accesorize my uniform?

ooh...change your hairstyle maybe???

Changing my style?

It's kind of hard to word this but right now my style is punkish but it's a bit girly also, my hair is choppy cut and long at the bottom.

I wanna go from this to a more mature style (I should've believed my mom when she said that what kind of clothes I wear is just a phase) lol but anyway...

RIGHT NOW I like to wear regular plain jeans and colorful flats with like a fitted black band t-shirt and like a pretty necklace to make it look more sophisticated. I get compliments on how I dress all the time, even people I don't know at my school like the way I dress my mom tells me (She's a substitute teacher and they tell her and then she tells me x])

My makeup is a bit on the darker side, I wear liquid black eyeliner all around my eyes and i lay it on pretty thick.

I wanna go from that to this (Pictures);

It's in japanese but just click on the tabs above the pictures.

I love that style it's so cute and chic.

Changing my style?

you might want to try different makeup first

more of a natural look not intense black eyeliner.

and start shopping at placings like

h%26amp;m

forever 21

new york %26amp; copany

the secret is just buying some cute clothes

and using some creativity to layer them.

Changing my style?

My suggestion, just experiment with different styles and kudos to your mother to seeming open minded.

Changing my style?

idk where you live but if you live in New York then look around on wall street and by central park for some good stores that are hidden like, under stairways and such

good luck!

Homecoming Up-Do? Or Half-Up? Or All Down?

My dress is black and blue and a halter. I have long brown hair. I would really appreciate some awesome ideas on how I should do my hair to flatter my face and that will look good with my dress. Links to pictures would be awesome! I would love ideas that I can do myself or have my mom help me with here at home, but styles for in at the salon will work too! Thanks!

Homecoming Up-Do? Or Half-Up? Or All Down?

How you wear your hair depends on your dress. If your dress is plain a striking updo with a vibrant flower/clip can make you look even more beautiful.

Help with halloween costume!?

I am being goth for Halloween and this is what i have to work with.My mom won't let me color my hair, whether its colored gel or the stuff that stays in for few days because i just dyed my hair last week and she thinks it will mess up the color, which it won't, but she still won't let me color it black for Halloween. So, i've got eyeliner/mascara, choker, black face makeup for lips, black outfit i'm wearing, fake eyelashes(which are so cute!), and for black eyeshadow, i'm going to just smear eyeliner on there(it's a pencil) to make it look like black eyeshadow. Is there anything else I could use? I'm dressing up as a casual goth, not one with fishnets and a miniskirt like a lot of people do.I'm wearing black pants, a black tanktop, and a black and red jacket.I need some styling tips for eye makeup. I've heard of someone drawing a line down their cheek from the corner of ther eye and at the end of the line drawing a little star. Do think that would be cute? Sorry this was so long. Thanx!

Help with halloween costume!?

Help with halloween costume!?

My 14-year-old cousin thinks I look bland.........?

I'm 22, 5"1" with a medium brown complexion, black wavy hair, dark eyes and slim build. It's true that I like leaving my hair alone on most days, because I can't be bothered styling it. I'm sure I look presentable enough, anyway.

She and I were extremely close when she was growing up, the reason being that I acted like a child even as a teenager. It was fun for her back then, but now she treats me like some boring cousin of hers who lacks motivation to look "good". She's always asking me to wear makeup, even though I like the natural, scrubbed look better. She also says I don't look stylish enough. She's always thinking of glamour, glamour and more glamour.

This has made me resent her a bit, and I'm even avoiding her for no valid reason. To be honest, I know I look more attractive than her, but I feel inadequate when I'm around her family who act the same way that she does. It has even made me become jealous of my own little cousin, which I know is totally ridiculous.

Help!!!

My 14-year-old cousin thinks I look bland.........?

Shes 14... She's in that phase where girls crib and declare everything is below them....Nothing is "cool" enough for them... Don't we all just LOVE that phase? *sigh*

I hardly think you should take makeup and style advice from a 14 year old.. Your style is what makes you feel most comfortable...Whether that means you wear leather pants, or flannel pj's....

Ignore her when she gets that way, and her family too... And tell them that you are single because you choose to be... There is absolutely no need to feel inadequate... No need...

My 14-year-old cousin thinks I look bland.........?

well theres a good web site and you can check out a vitural reality to see what kind of make up suits your needs. also this will build up your confidents as a women. it worked for me. at 30 i still look 21 and people still treat me like a child. now i look and dress like a 30 yr (old) women. and feel good about myself-good luck

My 14-year-old cousin thinks I look bland.........?

You be who YOU are. Don't try to be someone else. Don't try to do something because someone else wants you to. If you do, you won't be happy.

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

some girls get creeped about my style i dont talk to much people and i long jet black straight hair but im all about the nocturnal deal kind goth and im more of a blackmetaler

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

as long as you like who cares what others think right? do what you want as long as no one gets hurt is my motto

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

crazy

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

If you like girls but you creep them out then yes it is bad for you

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

Do what ever makes you feel good.

You'll eventually change...most everyone does...

Goth is good... I must admit, I've never slept with one before though...

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

yeah. if you are interested in finding love.... try not to be so dark. girls like athletic or sensitive.... ARE YOU EITHER?!

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

Well my advise to you is people don't know what weird really means. They need to look at themselves before they judge.Don't change for nobody just follow on what you believe and hang with positive crowds that supports you in a healthy way.

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

It's not good at all - change your look so you're more approachable.

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

JESUS said "I AM THE LIGHT AND THE WAY" The devil is the dark side of life CHOOSE WISELY!!!!!!!

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

I'm all for being yourself, but if i was dating i'd be scared of the Dark part, but intrigued by the Mysterious part. There are lots of gothics, so if that's who you are, don't change...be yourself...you'll meet girls who are into the same things as you...however,if your "style" is keeping you from talking to people, you should maybe look into adjusting til you're on your own comfort level or work on the self esteem thing,ok? good luck to you

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

Its important to be your self and bee happy about it, being happy never hurt any body, you can be dark and feel good about your self, remember that no mather what we do we cant never make everybody around us happy for being our self's, so don't worry about it, give them the respect that you want for your self.

Be free.

Is being dark in mysterius for me bad or good?

Hey, be yourself, don't change for NO ONE! This is what makes you happy. Don't let some stupid chick take that away from you. Just find someone who has the same interest, their out there. If we were all the same we'd be ..boring. This is YOUR existence!!! My music is my life, and anyone in my past that I been with couldn't relate to that then......NEXT!!!!!! \,,/

Clothing trends in high school.......?

i am participating in a Big brother, Big sister program associated with the local public school system, and the "little sister" that i am mentoring is a freshman in highschool.

i would say that she dresses pretty cute for her age, which is 14 years old. on a normal day, she wears nice jeans, layers a couple fitted t-shirts, ballet flats, cute headband, and she likes to accesorise with cute necklaces and bracelets. she likes to wear bright colors, always has her hair in a cute style, and is all around pretty girly. but lately, this past week specifically, she has changed her whole look very abruptly. every day this week she was wearing ALL black, heavy black eyeliner, and her hair was down and very messy. the first time i just thought that it was for fun, but the next day she had temporary tattoos of skulls and crossbones on her wrists, black lipstick, and this black eyeshadow smudged all around her eyes. is this a new trend in highschools? i am just curious!

and i am not old, i am 20

Clothing trends in high school.......?

It's definitely not a NEW trend. It was around when I was in school and I'm sure when you were too.

It is a way of getting attention, usually just a phase kids go through, and the more others try to change her... it will convince her she has made the right choice because she is now getting what she wanted... more attention.

Try keeping her involved in positive things she always enjoyed, compliment her on anything she does that is positive, and try to ignore the goth style the best you can. Let her go on and express herself. If people don't give her the shocked reaction she is looking for, she may tire of it quickly.

If her friends are all doing it right now, she will think it is the *best thing ever*, so don't ruin the great relationship you have by trying to change her.

BTW I admire what you are doing to help kids!

Clothing trends in high school.......?

oh uh she's turning to the dark side... jk, yeah, it's a trend, it's called goth or emo, im not very fond of it myself...

Clothing trends in high school.......?

It's not a new trend, it's the goth look. She's probably starving for attention, adn so she's dressing out. the layered look, however, is the trend. I'd try and see how her friends are dressing---if she had a falling out with a close friend, she may have switched groups--leading to the fashion nightmare.

Clothing trends in high school.......?

she sounds like a twat no 1 should go emo nor gothic

it suits NO ONE

Clothing trends in high school.......?

hello she is dressing emo uor goth black eyeliner and fake skull tatoos thats not cool she is trying to be either goth or emo

Clothing trends in high school.......?

try to get her out of this...I'm a Junior in high school, and most people like that, end up getting in to more trouble. unless her way wasn't making her happy trying to impress people that she is sick of trying to impress...either way, keep an eye on her.

Clothing trends in high school.......?

Something has turned this girl around... ask her. She's either hanging out with a different group of kids, has gotten a crush on a heavy metal rock band, or for some reason has a desire to be noticed. Start talking to her... it's ok to ask her why. And, hey, what you're doing to help out a young teen... That's a great thing!!

Clothing trends in high school.......?

No, there's no such thing as a trend in high school. Everybody basically has her own style. The style your little sister may be going for is either Emo or Goth. Ask her why she changed her style so quickly because I really liked the sound of the older one!

Clothing trends in high school.......?

it's not a new trend actually.. it was there for years...

+so what if the girl changed? i went through the same phase in 8th grade and was there for 2 and a half years... one day i just decided "hey i'm tired of looking the same as everyone else..so tomorrow i'm wearing black".. believe me at that time i was gullible and people took advantage of that..and i was laughed at and was treated as a nerd.. so one day i said "enough is enough" and i was tired of being a doormat.. so i just decided to change my style.. cause goth is "scary"..and it worked..people didn't make fun of me anymore..they were scared (stupid) but t'was much better than being the nerd.

other people either do it because they want to be "goth" or because they want to be differant..

+don't worry about the girl...if she's differant...let her be.. there are plenty of "popular goths" at my school... in middle school people are stupid and ask you if "you're a goth".. in that case you're an outcast.. the fact that your sister wears black doesn't mean that she changed her personallity.. if her friends know her well, they'll know she's the same "cute person" she used to be.

so no she's not going through a "dark phase"..black doesn't make you depressed...it's just a fassion statement.. fassion does not change feelings.

Clothing trends in high school.......?

yea its a trend and a stupid one. ask her why she is doing this and tell her she looked great before and (maybe even) tell her to knock it off or go to her parents and ask them if something has happened to make her withdraw for everyone

Clothing trends in high school.......?

Talk to her. This look is usually associated with people into drugs and with other problems like that. This isn't good...she may have gotten herself a boyfriend that's like this, which could also lead to some problems I'm sure you can speculate...hint. I'd sit her down and just talk to her about what her friends are wearing, and since you're her "sister", maybe plan something where you can get together with all her friends and have a little party or sleepover or something; just to get some insight into what she's gotten herself into. But try to get her out of this; even teachers and admisistrators shun this, she could ruin a reputation she may have taken a while to build up. The clothes you first described her to be wearing are the ones in "style" at my school, so just try to see what's going on with her. Good luck to the both of you. :)

Clothing trends in high school.......?

well im at that age too, 14.

i dress pretty too like with ballet flats and headbands and accesorise with different necklaces and stuff -its called beeing preppy %26amp; dressing preppy.

and i have days when i dress really dark and black eyeliner and stuff.

its just my mood. clothes are supposed to represent moods. so maybe she's feeling sad or something. try talking to her.

but if she's trying to go all "emo" its stupid cuz that style is so annoying and plus its not even nice %26amp; cool to be emo.

Clothing trends in high school.......?

i'm in 10th grade, she's probably just going through a phase, you know trying to find her self. hah kinda cheesy sounding but i mean everybody does change eventually. just tell her to be herself and be comfortable with who she is

Is this a good book?

I'm currently writing this book. Is this good?

The hallway buzzed with noise as Mabel tried to squish through the crowd. 鈥?Oh my gosh! Isn鈥檛 this cool?!鈥? Noah grabbed Mabel鈥檚 shoulders and screamed. Noah cleared her throat. 鈥淚 mean, it鈥檚 the first day of middle school and鈥︹€?She stopped and stared at the group of football players as if they were rock stars. Mabel stared at the group. Noah pulled out her vanilla Lip Smacker and smiled. 鈥淟ook, there鈥檚 Robert!鈥? she said smacking her glossy lips and smiling.

Mabel sighed. Robert has been her only crush since second grade and during the summer, she promised herself that this year, in seventh grade, she would make him hers. She just wondered why he never hung out with her or even said a word to her. Is it because she wasn鈥檛 pretty enough? Or was it because he didn鈥檛 like girls who stuck their noses in books and paid attention in class like Mabel. As a straight-A student, she only cared about education. If she got a C or lower, he

If she got a C or lower, her mom would start a long conversation about 鈥渋f you don鈥檛 have the grades, Mabel, you may never get into Harvard. You need to take education seriously. Now go study and promise me a better test next time.鈥?Mabel would nod her head and run off to her room. Mabel knew it was because of that.

Noah, Mabel鈥檚 best friend since kindergarten, was cool and never shy. In be fact, Mabel would be totally jealous of her because on top of being a straight-B student, she was cute, friendly, funny, and had adorable style. Hmm鈥hat if Robert likes Noah? Mable wondered to herself. She was stunned. 鈥淣oah, do you think that I鈥檓鈥ou know, geeky?鈥?Noah looked down at the floor. 鈥淯m鈥ell, you鈥檙e not that geeky, you鈥檙e just鈥︹€?Mabel interrupted, 鈥淣erdy?鈥?Noah nearly yelled out 鈥淵es!鈥?Mabel stared her. She was right. The two headed to the girls bathroom.

鈥淎re you sad?鈥?asked Noah as she applied mascara and pink eye shadow. Mabel finished tying her shoes and let out a calm 鈥淣o.鈥?Noah smiled and said, 鈥淧erfect! My make up is so perfect. No smudges, no colors getting mixed up!鈥?Mabel giggled, 鈥淵our pink eye shadow doesn鈥檛 match your dark red lips鈥? Noah grinned and started to sing 鈥淎in鈥檛 no other man鈥? 鈥淵ou look and sing just like a miniature Christina Aguilera!鈥?Mabel said while putting on nail polish. There was no one else in the bathroom and they felt relaxed. Rrrrring! 鈥淥h my gosh! We鈥檙e gonna be late!鈥?Noah struggled to pack up her cosmetics in her purple pouch. 鈥淲ait!鈥? screamed Noah, 鈥渕y lips got smudged!鈥?Mabel sighed. Why was it that Mabel only needed nail polish to feel beautiful while Noah needed the whole enchilada? Noah finally found a light shade of lavender and wiped it all over her lips. She put on a coat of her signature vanilla Lip Smacker. They rushed out of the bathroom and into the classroom. The teacher stared at them. He was a bald man with round, black glasses and he had on a button-down shirt, a tie with prancing elves, and tuxedo pants. 鈥淵ou girls got lucky. Class starts in one more minute but everyone else came early. Guess they鈥檙e all excited about stepping up and becoming seventh graders.鈥?They took the seats in the front next to each other. A couple seconds later, the teacher announced 鈥淔ive, four, three鈥︹€?

Amber, Raquel, Ashley, and Anna rushed in right when he was going to say 鈥渢wo鈥? Mabel and Noah looked at each other and mouthed the words 鈥減opular girls鈥? This group is even worse than all the bullies. These girls were so preppy and girly and Amber was the head of them. It was her who said what do and what not to do and everyone else in her crew did exactly what she said and she treated them like servants. They even wore matching clothes and today, it was plaid Bermuda shorts, sparkly tank tops, and ballet flats. The group took the seats right next to Robert. Amber worked up her charm and flirted with Robert. Mabel grunted and played around with the key chain in the pocket of her hoodie. 鈥淣o more being a nerd,鈥?she whispered to herself. Apparently, Noah heard and winked. She then whispered, 鈥淕ood idea, Mabel!鈥?The teacher cleared his voice and in a soft therapist voice said, 鈥淗ello students. My name is Mr. Smith and I鈥檓 going to be your history teacher.鈥?Everyone stared at him as if he was speaking another language. As always, Mabel knew that Mr. Smith would be a great teacher.

Mr. Smith pulled out a box of textbooks and passed them out. 鈥淓veryone, please to turn to page 6. Please silently read this section on ancient Egypt.鈥?Everyone got right to work and started reading while Mr. Smith sat down at his desk. He jotted down things on a notebook.

Half an hour later, when everyone was finished reading, he passed out slips of paper to everyone. 鈥淧lease put your slip into the hat on my desk鈥? he pointed to his desk 鈥渨e will be starting our ancient Egypt projects and now we are picking partners.鈥? Mabel鈥檚 heart started pounding. The only way that Robert could notice me is if I worked with him on a project, she thought. 鈥淭he first pair is Rachel and Chris.鈥?Mable was shocked. Who knew Rachel, the sophisticated wannabe-lawyer would wound up with the kid who did arm farts in front of the teacher? 鈥淭he next pair is Noah and Robert.鈥?Mabel almost cried. How could this be? But then she calmed down. What if she used Noah to ask Robert some questions about what kind of girl he was into? Hmmm鈥aybe Noah was more useful than giving bad makeovers. Mr. Smith glanced up at the clock. 鈥淲hoops! Time is running out! I better assign partners and fast!鈥? he said in a cartoon voice. 鈥淗arold and Mabel. Thomas and Amber. Tiffany and Raquel. Anna and Mohammed. Ashley and David.鈥?Mabel felt like dying. How could she possibly be stuck with Harold, the boy who picks his nose and eats a plain sandwich with a massive dallop of mayonnaise and a pickle or two to top it off. Mabel never forgot the time when he shoved one of his icky sandwiches up her throat. She barfed and had to go home early.

After history class, Mabel went to the bathroom while Noah went to ask Mr. Smith some questions about the project. Mabel was upset that Noah got to be Robert鈥檚 partner. Noah barged into the girl鈥檚 bathroom. 鈥淲hy didn鈥檛 you wait for me?鈥?groaned Noah. Mabel just applied some lip-gloss and looked the other way. Noah frowned. Mabel then smacked her lips and blew her nails. 鈥淢abel, you can鈥檛 give me the silent treatment forever. Now, tell me why you鈥檙e so mad.鈥?Mabel cleared her throat, 鈥淲hy do you get to be Robert鈥檚 partner and I don鈥檛?鈥?Noah looked at Mabel as if she was stupid. 鈥淢abel, the whole partner-picking thing was random, so I didn鈥檛 get to choose.鈥?Mabel rolled her yes, 鈥淪o what? I鈥檓 still mad.鈥?Noah started to get angry and shouted, 鈥淚ts not my fault!鈥?Mabel stared at her. Mabel had never seen Noah erupt before. She must have really pressed Noah鈥檚 buttons, but she didn鈥檛 care, or at least pretended not to care. Mabel finally got the message: Noah might actually like Robert. 鈥淲ait a minute,鈥?said Mabel 鈥測ou like Robert.鈥?Noah was silent. 鈥淒o you like Robert?鈥?Mabel demanded. Noah nodded her head. Mabel started crying. Noah approached Mabel and hugged her. Noah whispered, 鈥淎re we still friends?鈥?Mabel wiped her tears and said, 鈥淚 don鈥檛 know.鈥?Mabel left the bathroom, slamming the door, and went off to English class. Luckily, Mabel didn鈥檛 have English class with Noah so she would have to deal with Noah passing notes asking, 鈥淎re we still friends?鈥?Mabel knew this because this happened last year.

English class was pretty quiet without Noah yelling out answers and whispering jokes about Mrs. Renoldi. Mrs. Renoldi was an old-fashioned lady who probably still believed it was the 1900鈥檚. In a turtleneck sweater, shiny silver pants, loafers, poofy hair, a red and green headband, and novelty earrings, she was the nerdiest teacher in the whole school. After English class, Mabel went over to get her science book from her locker to study at lunch. Noah had slipped a note into Mabel鈥檚 locker:

Dear Mabel,

I鈥檓 really sorry. Please forgive me. I mean, it鈥檚 not my fault that I have a crush on Robert. Besides, its not like I鈥檓 going to flirt with him or something.

-Noah

Mabel carefully studied the note. Wow鈥oah even used the blue gel pen I gave her last year , thought Mabel. She did feel bad about being mad at Noah for no reason. She wanted to forgive her, but she wasn鈥檛 sure yet. She pulled out her science book and her wrinkled up paper bag and headed over to the cafeteria. Lunch just wasn鈥檛 the same without Noah. Mabel had a peanut butter sandwich, homemade brownies, orange juice, and an apple. She glumly ate lunch. She wondered where Noah was sitting. She glanced through the whole cafeteria until finally she spotted Noah. Mabel gasped and choked on a chunk of the apple. There was Noah sitting with Amber, Ashley, Raquel, and Anna laughing it up right in front of Mabel. Mabel felt gullible to even want to forgive Noah. Noah was trying to make Mabel jealous and it worked. Mabel thought of a plan to embarrass Noah for life.

The next day, Mabel completely ignored Noah and Noah ignored her back. Mabel was lonely while Noah flaunted herself with the 鈥減opular girls鈥? During history class, Mabel watched as Noah smiled and blushed right in front of Robert. That鈥檚 when Mabel realized that he really did like Noah. 鈥淲ant to eat lunch with me?鈥?he said to Noah. The whole class gasped. The star of the football team and the preppy, happy girl鈥ating lunch鈥ogether?

Mabel watched as Noah and Robert giggled at lunch. They seemed as though they鈥檝e known each other forever. Mabel couldn鈥檛 stand it. She walked over to where Noah was sitting and dumped milk all over her head. Noah screamed. Noah went running like a dog with a tail on fire. And Robert frowned. 鈥淲hat the heck, you geek?!鈥?he shouted. Mabel stared at him, feeling the tears slipping out of her eyes. A geek? Great, now I know he thinks I鈥檓 a geek, she thought. Mabel took her wrinkled up paper bag with an apple core and half of the sandwich and walked out of the cafeteria. She went to her locker and stared at herself in the mirror of her locker. She checked herself. What was so geeky about her?

Moments later, she realized what was nerdy. Square black glasses that were so big that they took up half of her face. A piggy nose. Red and blue braces. A button down cotton shirt. Plaid trousers. Socks up to the knee. Maybe if she stretched them, they鈥檇 cover her whole leg. And red low top Converse. She felt the word in her mind. That word. Geek. Its time to stop being a geek once and for all, she thought.

Chapter 2

Mabel looked at herself in the mirror in the morning and smiled. 鈥淣o more being a geek!鈥?she screamed in delight. As she walked through the hallway at school, she finally knew that being a geek was over for her. 鈥淥oh hot!鈥?screeched the boys. And that one sound that made it feel worth it. Gasp. Gasp.

Mabel was wearing a red tube top with the word 鈥渂aby鈥?written in fold foil. She wore an incredibly mini mini-skirt. She had strappy red sandals and she dyed her hair cherry chocolate with red and black streaks. She wore a chain necklace, earrings, and a tattoo.

She went to class. History class, she sighed. Mr. Smith looked at her. The teacher鈥檚 pet has gone wrong. 鈥淯m, Mabel, would you like to read page 12, paragraph 2?鈥?Mabel stared at him. Look, I鈥檓 not a kiss-up teacher鈥檚 pet girl anymore. I鈥檓 a hot, bad girl, she thought. 鈥淣o.鈥?she said in a snobby tone. She knew how to do this voice perfectly because the popular crew practically created that voice. Mr. Smith looked at her. 鈥淧lease read the paragraph, Mabel.鈥?Mabel then said, in a snobbier tone, 鈥淣o.鈥?Mr. Smith turned red. 鈥淩EAD THE PARAGRAPH!鈥?he screamed. 鈥淣o.鈥?Mabel said like she was tring to be annoying. Mr. Smith then said, 鈥淢abel read the paragraph or else.鈥?Mabel stood up and walked toward him, 鈥淎re you threatening me?鈥?she screamed. 鈥淕et your backpack and head to the principal鈥檚 office. You鈥檙e in big trouble, ma鈥檃m!鈥?The class roared with 鈥淥oooh!鈥?and 鈥淯h oh!鈥?And what Mabel was waiting for. Gasp. Gasp.

鈥淪o, why didn鈥檛 you read the paragraph?鈥?asked the principal. Mrs. Harper was sitting at her desk in a light blue business suit, high heels to match, and a messy bun. Mabel stared at her wrinkles. Um鈥here鈥檚 something called Botox, thought Mabel. 鈥淚鈥檓 waiting to know.鈥?The principal added. The office was so depressing. The desk Mrs. Harper was sitting at was flowing with tattered papers. Pens and pencils were all over the floor. Mabel was sitting on a little pink stool. There was a countertop with coffee mugs and file folders. The carpet looked as though there was a wild party in there. Gum on the floor. 鈥淢abel, are you going to talk or not,鈥?asked the principal. Mabel sighed. 鈥淚 just didn鈥檛 feel like reading.鈥?Mabel put on her puppy dog hoodie. If Mrs. Harper saw Mabel with a tube top, the trouble she was already was in would be doubled. 鈥淭ube tops aren鈥檛 allowed鈥? Mrs. Harper would say over and over again. Mrs. Harper rose her eyebrows, 鈥淪o, why didn鈥檛 you feel like reading.鈥?Mabel decided to lie. It was the only way to get out of all this trouble. 鈥淲ell, I didn鈥檛 feel like reading because I was in a bad mood. I felt like crying.鈥?Mrs. Harper suddenly switched from principal mode to therapist mode. 鈥淥h, dear! What happened, Mabel?鈥?Mabel replied as glumly as she can, 鈥淲ell, I like Robert and now Robert likes Noah and I want him to like me.鈥?Mabel then stated crying for real. By trying to lie, she ended up telling the truth. Mrs. Harper nodded her head, 鈥淚t鈥檒l be okay, dear. Boys are mysterious people, really they are. Don鈥檛 cry please.鈥?Mabel cried and cried. Mrs. Harper reached into the desk drawer and pulled out a mango-flavored lollypop. Mabel took it even though strawberry-flavored lollypops were her favorite. She wiped her tears and left the office.

She went to bathroom to wash her face. Noah walked into the bathroom too. 鈥淪o, what happened in the office?鈥?asked Noah. Mabel replied, 鈥淣othing. I didn鈥檛 get in trouble.鈥?Noah smiled. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 good,鈥?Noah giggled. 鈥淭he whole class was talking about it while we were supposed to be working on our Egypt projects. Everyone thought you got suspended or something.鈥?Noah added. Mabel sighed. She really did miss Noah. Mabel asked, 鈥淪o, how is it going with Robert?鈥?Noah shook her head. 鈥淎ll he ever talks about is Amber. I found out he鈥檚 using me to get to Amber. So I dumped him during history class.鈥?Mabel felt so bad. 鈥淗ow could we have let one boy ruin our friendship?鈥?Mabel asked sadly. 鈥淚 missed you so much. There was no one to dip Oreos into chocolate milk with while watching cartoons, no one to play soccer with, no one to watch movies with, no one to bake cookies with, no one to play 鈥渉air salon鈥?with. No one to do anything with. Please, please, please, please be my best friend again.鈥?Noah cried. Noah was sobbing. Mabel yelled happily, 鈥淥f course I鈥檒l be your friend again!鈥?They hugged and cried.

鈥淓veryone was talking about your geek to chic makeover today,鈥?Noah said. Mabel smiled, 鈥淢y days as Geek Girl are over!鈥?Noah then added, 鈥淭he football team was even talking about how hot you looked. And Robert!鈥?Mabel leaped with excitement. She ran over to Robert. 鈥淗ey, Robert!鈥?she said in that total flirt tone. Robert looked at her. 鈥淵ou look really hot.!鈥?Mabel giggled. 鈥淲anna go out to the movies this Friday night?鈥?she asked. Robery smiled, 鈥淵eah, sure.鈥?

Friday came and Mabel was throwing clothes out of her closet. Her room was a little small. Her bed, with her pink and lime green bedding, was in the middle, magazines with cut out pictures of celebrities were all over the carpet, and one pink dresser and a desk with a laptop. Her closet was small, which is why most of her clothes were all over the floor. Where is that pink tube top? she wondered. She found her tube top under her bed and pulled it on. She grabbed her high heels and skinny jeans. She put glittery pink eye shadow and sparkly pink lipstick. She headed over to the theatre and walked up to Robert, who waiting inside near the snack area.

鈥淲ant popcorn?鈥?asked Robert. Mabel blushed as pink as her lipstick and said, 鈥淵es, please鈥?in her most innocent little girl voice. She has used this voice to get herself out of trouble with her mom. He paid for popcorn and purchased a drink and escorted Mabel to a seat way in the back. Robert sat down and put the popcorn in Mabel鈥檚 lap. Mabel smiled weakly. This was her first date ever and she felt so awkward. The movie started and Robert smiled at her. She wasn鈥檛 interested in watching 鈥楽uperman strikes again鈥? but she pretended to be completely interested in it. She sighed and daydreamed about getting married to Robert. She smiled and dozed off. Before she knew it, the dream became beautiful the more she imagined.

鈥淢abel鈥? Robert said while shaking her. He cleared his throat, 鈥淲ake up, Mabel!鈥?Mabel woke up, still sleepy. 鈥淲hat happened?鈥?she asked, feeling drowsy. Robert frowned. 鈥淵ou missed the whole movie because you fell asleep鈥? he replied. Mabel widened her eyes. What a jerk I am. The one and only hottie who I loved for so long finally went on a date with me and I fell asleep. Poor guy paid for tickets and snacks and I wasted it all and fell asleep. Fell asleep, she thought. 鈥淚鈥檓 sorry.鈥?Mabel said. Robert got up and said, 鈥淐ome on, lets go.鈥?Mabel sighed. The one and only boy she really loved is going to dump her after one date. Just one date! No, she was not going to let him dump her.

They went outside and sat at the bench. Robert was waiting for a taxi to pick them up. Mabel grabbed his arm, 鈥淎re you still mad at me?! All I did was fall asleep during the movie! You can鈥檛 blame me for being a bit tired. You鈥檙e not the one who has to study, play the violin, play the piano, go to soccer practices every day, and still have time to do homework! And then I still have chores and you in my life! So, why are you mad if you can鈥檛 understand what I go through every freaking day of my life!鈥?Mabel had yelled this out so loud that everyone waiting for the bus and exiting and entering the theatre could hear. She sounded like a crazy woman who wanted to break up with her husband. Robert stood there, embarrassed as everyone stared at Mabel and Robert. Robert just glared at her and looked down. 鈥淚 wasn鈥檛 mad at you, just a little annoyed. That鈥檚 all. But you had to embarrass me in front of all these people.鈥?Mabel shrugged. 鈥淚鈥檓 really, really sorry, Robert. Please forgive me.鈥?Mable said. Robert hugged her and replied, 鈥淛ust don鈥檛 let it happen again.鈥?They let go and Mabel quietly sad, 鈥淥k.鈥?br>

Noah called Mabel two hours after she got back from the date with Robert. Noah seemed pretty excited. 鈥淪o, how did the date go with Robert?鈥?Mabel sighed, 鈥淚 fell asleep during the movie and he seemed pretty upset and I yelled at him in public like a mad woman with no therapist who wanted to divorce her husband and live alone in a mountaintop in Oregon or something.鈥?Noah giggled, 鈥淒on鈥檛 tell me you brought up the fact that you practice piano and stuff. And why Oregon? I heard that Wisconsin has pretty nice mountaintops perfect for mad women with no therapist who want to divorce their husband.鈥?Mabel laughed, 鈥淭his is probably the last time me and Robert will ever go out on a date.鈥?br>Is this a good book?

i 鈾?this story!!!! my only bad comments would be that in the beginning it kinda repeated a little, %26amp; some of the words were misspelled, but change that %26amp; its a super great story!!!!!!! i read it kinda quickly just so that i could comment on how good it was!!! plz finish it or email me the rest finalized if u can!!!! :D

Is this a good book?

It was okay, but the diction was a little bit boring. Some words were used excessively, and the explanations of things dragged just a little. Would this be for an adolescent book because that is what I think it would fit really well into? Otherwise, good job. The characters are a little one sided, your don't get to see much into them except what is explained about them....

Good luck with the writing!! sounds good to me so far!
