also, i know what emo is, EMO is STEROTYPE!!!!!!!!!!!

People call me emo?

Yes, Emo can be a stereotype because not every self-identified or societal-identified Emo individual is exactly the same.

I think you described it pretty well and I'd probably agree with people when they classify you as Emo....but you can be or not be whatever you want!

People call me emo?

Emo is not a sterotype it's a sub culture of punk and goth.

basically they call you this because they can't stand the fact that you have some originality and that you like different music and clothing.

people get called emo for looking like a rocker. but preps don't know the difference so they just call you emo because emo is lame and is associated with being a loner.

People call me emo?

Emo is short for Emotive-Hardcore MEANING it's a music genre (that originated in the mid-eighties. My friends that like that music (Rites of Spring, Sunny Day Real Estate, etc) like poetry, philosophy, and photography.

But lately, teens having an identity crisis have decided to use this as a label for themselves. These kids can be stereotyped as middle class teenagers stuck in suburbia that whine and moan about how bad life is and brag about having depression and cutting themselves.

LABELS ARE FOR SOUP CANS, NOT FOR PEOPLE.
