My hair is long, black, and straight. I am thinking of getting a spiral perm. Is this still in style or too old fashioned? I dont want super curley. I would like my hair like Salma Hayeck in Desperado. Any suggestions?

permed hair never has the same look as hair that's been curled with an iron or set on rollers...it won't be as loose of a curl but if you go for it then have the sides and back flat-wrapped and the top spiral-wrapped so you have the look of a spiral perm without the bushy volume on the sides like the old 80's perms...

Spiral curls are in. I do mine without chemicals, Just use rollers and a bottle of setting lotion.
