I have been on a quest to grow my hair out natural and Ive cut off the permed hair little by little and gotten braids in the mean time. Now the majority of my hair is natural and curly and thick. I have no clue what to do now...I may just relax it after all that hard work. Im trying to stop braiding my hair to give it a rest, but I dont know what to do with it. First, anyone know any good conditioners I can use (it takes a good 1 1/2 hours to comb my hair out after washing)? And what styling tips can anyone give me. I am going to relax my hair eventually, but I want to leave it in natural for a few more months and have it thick and healthy! Im desperate, anything would help.
Going natural...for black women?!!!!?
if y relax it that wa a waste of your time.... make a little style out of it, braid the front and leave the rest curly

what i would do is trim it a Little and style it with some little curls and let it stay like that for a while,it should bulk up.

I agree. If you're going to go back and relax it, just do it now. If you are serious about staying natural then I have some styles for you. As far as a conditioner, try Suave naturals.

Embrace being natural with your hair. My first tip is comb your hair out with a wide tooth comb while you still have the conditioner in it. This will make it easier to comb through and allow the conditioner to be work through your hair thoroughly.
I use the olive oil hair care line by Regis which you can get from your wal-mart salon or any other salon in the malls. Olive oil, Jojoba oil and shea butter are really good for the hair.
You can use Proclaim Curl Activator Gel to define your natural curl pattern. It is not greasy and does not contain alcohol (which drys natural hair out). There are so many styles that you have to choose from as a natural. From curly to twists to a fro. The sky is the limit. Just play with different styles and see the compliments you will get.
Below are a few of the websites I visit pretty often.
By the way, I have been natural since August 23, 2006 and don't plan to go back.
