OMG! I'm in the same situation as you and I'm thinking of buying a really cute black dress with thick straps and a cute silver necklace and earrings with black heels. Simple yet nice and not too dressy. hair left out with a little waves.

definently do not wear a dress its way too formal for 8th grade...just wear your favorite pair of jeans or a cute denim skirt with leggings and a cute tank top
