Scene hairstyle/color help?

i have been dyeing my hair honeybrown for a long time, but my natural color is black so it grows, out, and right now, like 1 1/2 inches is grown out, and i wanted to get it cut like a layered, messy scene-ish style, and i want it to cover like my eye too. But I don't know if I should dye my whole head black and have highlights or redye it this color and get highlights(this would be easier though), and if i do, what color highlights should I get?

i like it, but i would make it more to cover the eye.but i doubt my mother would let me get that .know what i mean?

wow that hair is awesome! the way i would do it is get two main layers and dye the bottom your natural color and the top blonde. to get the rainbow you can use manic panic hair dye (i get it at hot topic) and they have it in tons of colors. then you can get more layers after that.

well... mom's can be tough.

but sit her down and explain your reasoning...

if she stilldoesn't get it then show her how you want it done...

ask nicely and warm her up a bit...

ya know do extra chores and stuff...

ummm...

this is a big change...

so if she says no then ask her if you can just dye it blackand get it cut...

then ask her later if you can add the blonde...

and so on with the rainbow or colors :D

if she still says no to all of that then i guess your out of luck...

it also helps if you get someone older on your side...
